PASSAGES PARISIENS: CHAPTER ONE

Built in the first half of the XIXth century, the covered passages marked the beginning of a totally new fashion phenomenon: the window shopping. The new gas light made it possible to pass through them while getting out of a theatre night out; plus, they were perfect to avoid rain and muddy streets. They are the very ancestors of the modern shopping malls and today we can still find antique shops, old tea rooms and vineries. I have visited Passage Panoramas, the oldest one (built in 1799) and Passage Jouffroy. In the Panoramas, there is also a restaurant which resemble a train wagon, too cool!
Fashion masterpieces of the day: my new BCBG white jacket, a vintage Fendi purse (“inherited” by mummy) and the Dolce&Gabbana crystal cross. Finally I could dare a spring look!
